Written to “Win 6.1 v.1.1. By Dr. Gonzo”, but works with all roms.

I assume that you have a new branded Vox, and you would like to try a new firmware.

You have to know this… Use at your own risk!!! (Important)

Make sure that your phone has a full charge. Throw your kids/pets/wife etc. away from your dark basement. Connect your phone to your computer and make sure that the USB cable won’t disconnect by a mistake.

Take a backup of all your data. When the phone is flashed, all your personal files will be deleted.

Then you have to application unlock your phone. Application locked, means that you can’t install any un-certified software. (No custom rom)

So go in to the folder VOX_USPL and SDA_ApplicationUnlock and run SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe.

Reboot.

Congratulations. Now you have a fully application unlocked phone.

Now go to VOX_USPL and the subfolder VOX_USPL and run uspl_116_jockyw.bat.

Copy haret.exe to Vox root directory

The next things is more a statement than something you should do…

Copy USPL 1.16 to Vox – this is beta and untested – use at your own risk !!

Press Enter

Execute SPL now – screen should turn nearly black or sometimes bright white

Press Enter

Now start a MTTY session or use RUU to flash any ROM

The display will quickly displaying the tux penguin and then the screen should go black.

Congratulations again. Your phone is useless… – Naa… Just kidding…

This means the USPL is loaded. ActiveSync might disconnect. This is normal.

DON’T DISCONNECT THE PHONE!!!

Now the USPL is loaded. Hurray!

In the same folder as the bat file (VOX_USPL/VOX_USPL) The file “ROMUpdateUtility.exe” is located.

Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe. This will flash the phone with an unofficial USPL. This makes you able to flash unofficial roms to your phone.

Follow the instructions. – The flash procedure will be very quick and your phone will reboot.

Dissapointed? No new stuff? Cant se any changes? – Just wait a minute, because now it gets funny.

Go the the rootfolder of the archive. Run “FLASH.exe”. This file loads the*.nbh file. In this case: “windows mobile 6.1 v1.1.nbh”.

If you want a different rom than Windows Mobil 6.1, the just run the original or another custom rom.

Follow the instructions.

TATAAA!!!…. Your done.
